About This Program
The FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate is the legal requirement for anyone who wants to fly a drone commercially in the United States. Without it, you're limited to hobby flights — no paid photography, no client work, no commercial inspections, no professional drone business of any kind.
Our two-day Part 107 certification class was built with one objective: guaranteed passing on the first attempt. We achieve that by going deeper than flashcards and test dumps. You'll understand why the regulations exist, how airspace works, how weather affects drone performance, and what real decision-making looks like during commercial operations.
Who This Class Is For
Designed for anyone who wants to fly drones commercially — whether you're starting from zero or you've flown recreationally for years and want to get paid for it. No prior aviation knowledge required. We start from fundamentals and build systematically through every topic on the FAA exam.
Full Course Syllabus
Eight structured modules covering every topic on the FAA Aeronautical Knowledge Test.
A deep dive into Title 14 CFR Part 107 — the foundational rule set governing all commercial UAS operations. Topics include certificate requirements, operating limitations (altitude, speed, visibility), daylight requirements, airspace restrictions, registration rules, and the waiver system.
- Certificate requirements and eligibility
- Operational limitations — altitude, speed, visibility
- Daylight and civil twilight rules
- Drone registration and marking requirements
- Remote ID requirements and compliance
- Waiver overview — when you need one and how to apply
All six classes of airspace (A through G) with focus on where drones are permitted, where ATC authorization is required, and where they're prohibited. Real sectional chart exercises build practical chart-reading skills for commercial operations.
- Class A through G airspace — rules and altitudes
- Controlled vs. uncontrolled airspace
- Special Use Airspace — MOAs, restricted, prohibited, warning areas
- Temporary Flight Restrictions (TFRs)
- Reading sectional charts for drone operations
- LAANC authorization overview
Weather is the most common cause of drone accidents and mission aborts. This module covers meteorological concepts tested on the FAA exam and the practical weather resources you'll use before every commercial flight, including how to read METARs and TAFs.
- Atmospheric pressure, temperature, and density altitude
- Wind patterns — prevailing winds, local effects, gusts
- Cloud types and ceiling classifications
- Thunderstorm formation and avoidance
- Fog, mist, and low visibility conditions
- Reading METARs and TAFs for UAS operations
ADM is the structured framework for safe, rational decisions under pressure. This module covers the hazardous attitudes, the DECIDE model, and CRM principles adapted for UAS. Many Part 107 exam questions are scenario-based and ADM knowledge is directly tested.
- The five hazardous attitudes and how to counter them
- The DECIDE model for systematic decision-making
- Risk management frameworks for UAS operations
- Situational awareness — maintaining the mental picture
- Crew Resource Management for single-pilot UAS
- Fatigue, stress, and human factors
This module covers communication failures, flyaway scenarios, GPS loss, motor failure, battery emergencies, and encounters with manned aircraft. You'll learn procedures, FAA incident reporting requirements, and how pre-flight planning reduces emergency exposure.
- Loss of control link — failsafe and return-to-home
- Flyaway scenarios — causes and prevention
- GPS failure and attitude mode operations
- Battery failures and low-voltage emergencies
- Manned aircraft conflicts — right of way and avoidance
- FAA incident and accident reporting requirements
Many commercial drone operations take place near airports. This module covers airport components, runway numbering, traffic pattern procedures, and ATC radio communication basics — essential for safe, legal operations in controlled airspace.
- Airport markings, signs, and lighting
- Runway numbering and orientation
- Traffic pattern altitude and legs
- CTAF, UNICOM, and ATIS frequencies
- ATC radio phraseology for UAS pilots
- NOTAMs — Notices to Air Missions
Weight, altitude, temperature, and wind all affect aircraft performance. This module covers weight and balance, density altitude, pre-flight inspection procedures, and the maintenance documentation practices that professional operators use.
- Weight and balance fundamentals for UAS
- Payload effects on flight performance and battery life
- Density altitude — effects on motor performance
- Temperature extremes and battery management
- Pre-flight inspection checklists
- Maintenance logs and airworthiness documentation
FAA-style practice questions organized by topic, full timed practice exams, and review of every missed question. We also cover test-day logistics: scheduling at a PSI testing center, ID requirements, time management, and how to interpret chart supplements.
- 60+ practice questions with full explanations
- Full timed practice exams (60 questions, 2 hours)
- Weak-area identification and targeted review
- Scheduling at a PSI Knowledge Testing Center
- Test-day ID and eligibility requirements
- Post-exam: IACRA application and certificate issuance
