5 Ways to Prevent Flyaway

When we pilot a drone, one of our biggest fears is that we just fly away until we never see it again. Fortunately, modern drones do not come alone. There is a technology behind each device that allows you to avoid such unfortunate events. Therefore, here I am going to teach you 5 basic tips to avoid a flyaway.

1) Make sure the Home Point is well configured: One of the ways to prevent your drone from getting lost is to configure the Home Point before your drone takes off! To do this, you must have at least four GPS signal bars, which will locate the return point of your drone, marked with a green dot with the letter H on your map.

2) Be careful with the interference of your compass: While the GPS signal gives you the location, the compass gives you the orientation, so you should be aware of any interference that your compass has because, if you mark an RTH on your drone But there is interference in your guidance system, your drone could land somewhere else. To check the state of the interference of the compass you can enter the configuration of your drone from your remote control or download the DJI Go application, which will give you notice of this signal and so you can recalibrate them or change your location to another place with less interference

3) Keep your drone within your line of sight: For people living in the United States, the FAA applies the rule of not flying your drone out of your line of sight. This is because there is a higher probability of accidents and flyaways since you cannot have a complete view of what surrounds your drone, for that reason it is not feasible to rely completely on live broadcasts.

4) If you change your location, reset your Home Point: This is a recommendation for those who drive their device from a moving vehicle, be it a car or a boat for example. Even if your drone has a good GPS signal, it cannot automatically configure its Home Point, so you should do it periodically.

5) Set an appropriate altitude for your RTH: Even though the drones now have sensors for objects and movements around the RTH, if you are at an hour of the day or in a space that has low light, your drone will not be able to identify some objects, such as water surface Likewise, there may be the possibility of an accident due to colliding with glass or light cables. So set an appropriate altitude for your RTH depending on the space where you are flying your drone.
